Navigation in Data Grids
Some of these tips only apply when a data grid allows for multiple selection.
Windows Navigation | Macintosh Navigation | Action |

Up/Down/Left/Right Arrow | Up/Down/Left/Right Arrow | Use the arrows to move the selection up/down/left/right one item. Hold down the CTRL key (Windows) or the CMD key (OSX) to only move the caret, but not change the selection. |
Page Up/Down | Page Up/Down | Click to move the selection up/down one page. |
Home | Home (Macintosh)
Fn + Left Arrow (MacBook) |
Click to move the selection to the top of the grid. |
End | End (Macintosh)
Fn+Right Arrow (MacBook) |
Click to move the selection to the bottom of the grid. |
CTRL+navigation key | CMD+navigation key | Click for multiple, noncontiguous selection and deselection in multiple selection mode. This works with Arrow/Page Up/Page Down keys, mouse click, and mouse drag. |
Shift+a navigation key | Click for contiguous selection in multiple selection mode. This works with Arrow/Page Up/Page Down keys, mouse click, and mouse drag. | |
CTRL+A | CMD+A | Click to select all grid items. This applies to text fields. |
SPACE | Click to add the caret to the selection list. | |
CTRL+SPACE | Click to toggle the selection of the caret. | |
SHIFT+SPACE | Click to extend the selection from the anchor to the caret. |
